This fragrance is the beloved daughter of old man AGURU, and my final work for the foreseeable future. I need to step outside, travel, hug some trees, and reclaim my nose for enjoying the simple wonders of life.

“Zen bursts forth with sparklingly beautiful Bergamot, followed by Patchouli, which those familiar with Teone’s creations will recognise as a rich, mossy, slightly dirty quality. Next we have sticky, slightly leathery notes of Labdanum. I grow Cistus here in our garden and love nothing more than squeezing the resin of the buds and sniffing my fingers. Then oakmoss makes itself known, bringing a slightly woody, damp note. Tolu balsam adds a further beauty to Zen with its soft vanilla scent, bringing depth and warmth. Mysore Sandalwood further enhances it. Those who are aware of Teone’s skilful hand with sandalwood will be more than aware of how she draws out the rich, creamy tones of Mysore sandalwood, considered to be the most authentic and rarest of all sandalwoods. Nagarmotha adds a beautiful smoky note, while Myrrh adds a bittersweetness to the heady concoction. Cinnamon leaf adds a touch of spice, while Cypress again adds further warmth. Then we have the leathery, animalic Ambrette. And then, AAA-grade aged Qadeem Oud, sometimes known as old oud. Qadeem Oud adds a final touch of potent animalic notes, but always under Teone’s skilful hand, restrained, never barnyardy. And here we reach the climax of Zen. Staggeringly beautiful stuff. Making the world a better place, one perfume at a time”.
