Rose Quartz Ganesh (1114710)

A simply incredible Rose Quartz carving of Ganesh - measures 12.5” x 8.5”. The attention to detail is outstanding. The Peacock on the carving's back is fascinating.

Subhamoy Das writes that 'the son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha has an elephantine countenance with a curved trunk and big ears, and a huge pot-bellied body of a human being. He is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is also worshipped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth. In fact, Ganesha is one of the five prime Hindu deities, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and Durga being the other four. Ganesha's head symbolises the Atman or the soul, which is the ultimate supreme reality of human existence, and his human body signifies Maya or the earthly existence of human beings. The elephant head denotes wisdom, and its trunk represents Om, the sound symbol of cosmic reality. In his upper right hand, Ganesha holds a goad, which helps him propel mankind forward on the eternal path and remove obstacles. The noose in Ganesha's left hand is a gentle implement to capture all difficulties.'

Ganesh can also be worked with when starting a new enterprise or business, or to remove obstacles for more established companies.

It is said that we can invoke the spirit and wisdom of Ganesh by whispering in his ear, and he will bestow prosperity upon us.

There is also a Peacock on the back of the carving, symbolising the fusion of wisdom with beauty, grace, prosperity and enlightenment. This depiction signifies Ganesha's mastery over vanity and pride, integrating material success with spiritual growth and divine knowledge, making it a rich symbol in Hindu art and festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi.
