The name Kyanite comes from the Greek word kyanos, meaning blue, and it has a cooling, calming feel. An excellent mineral to use when working with the subjects of the Throat Chakra, or what is known as the Vishuddha Chakra. In Sanskrit, "Vishudhha" means purity and is related to truth, communication, cleansing, expression, and right speech. The Throat Chakra is the 5th Chakra, energetically located around the throat, and is strongly connected to the thyroid, one of the body's largest glands. Kyanite teaches that all is connected and asks you to observe the interplay of life, listen to your inner voice, and commune with your higher self so that you can honestly experience who you are.
