A unique wooden Cheppu Mask hand carved in Nepal.

This large, brightly coloured wooden mask depicts a protective figure known variously as Chhepu, Cheppu or as a kind of Makara.

One of three powerful brothers named Cheppu, Garuda and Htimanga. Regarded as being brave and fearsome, Cheppu is seen regularly in Nepalese architecture, guarding the way above doors, arches and gateways.
