Moonstone is a variety of feldspar. It is recognised by the play of light or shimmer, which always looks different when the stone moves. The shimmer of Moonstone is caused by refracted light rays within the stone. Many cultures have attached myths and held great spiritual significance to this stone. Throughout history, the core theme associated with Moonstone is its connection to the moon, fertility, femininity, and the Goddess. One of my favourite stories about this crystal is that the Romans believed Moonstone was magically created from the rays of moonlight.

The name Kyanite originates from the Greek word "kyanos," meaning blue, and it evokes a cooling, calming sensation. An excellent mineral to use when working with the subjects of the Throat Chakra, or what is known as the Vishuddha Chakra. In Sanskrit, "Vishudhha" means purity and is related to truth, communication, cleansing, expression, and right speech. The Throat Chakra, the 5th Chakra, is situated energetically around the throat and has a strong connection to the thyroid, one of the largest glands in the body. Kyanite teaches that all is connected, asking you to observe the interplay of life, listen to your inner voice, and commune with your higher self, so that you can experience yourself honestly.
