Product Description
Lakshmi stands like a yogini on a lotus pedestal and holds lotus in either hand, a symbolism for fortune, self-knowledge and spiritual liberation. Her iconography shows her with four hands, which represent the four goals of human life considered important to the Hindu way of life: dharma (protection), karma (action, work or deed), artha (sense, goal, purpose or essence) and moksha (freedom, nirvana). Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity.
This piece carved from wood is old but I do not know how old. Measures 22.5” in height by 11” wide and 5” deep.
