Aquaprase Moonstone & Apatite set in 14ct gold (1112935)

An outstandingly beautiful pendant measuring 1" in length. On the top is a piece of Blue Apatite with a Moonstone from Madagascar in the middle with an Aquaprase below. All set in 14 ct gold.

Aquaprase is a new super-gem. It is a vibrant translucent bluish green variant of Chalcedony, drawing its colours from chromium and nickel. It is incredibly beautiful.
Although Chalcedony varieties such as Chrysoprase and Gem Silica are well known and occur in yellowish green and greenish blue colours, the colour of Aquaprase is distinctly different from any African chalcedony examined to date.
