Paraiba tourmaline appears as an intense neon blue and/or violet. The term neon is used as the colours appear to glow. Paraiba comes from the region of Paraiba in Brazil where this crystal was first discovered. It is said to be the rarest of all the tourmaline family. Tourmaline belongs to the trigonal system occuring as long prismatic and columnar crystals that are usually triangular in cross section.
Paraiba has a strong affinity with the Angels of Joy, Love and Patience.
