Bronze cast Green Tara statue measuring 8.75" tall by 6.25" wide. A particularly fine Green Tara statue with the entire body gold plate. Photographed surrounded by crystals (not included in the price)
This statue is handmade in Nepal by skilled craftsmen trained in family lineages. Each image is made from a wax model which melts during the copper casting process. The 'lost wax' method results in enhanced detail, life expression and refined finish.
Green Tara represents the female aspect of compassion. Green Tara is regarded as spiritual consort of Amoghasiddhi, the Dhyani Buddha. Green Tara is thought to have mortal base in the historic persons of the Nepali and Chinese princess who married the great king Srong Tsong Gampo and credited with the introduction of Buddhism to Tibet and China. Green Tara vowed "until Samsara is empty, I shall work for benefit of sentient beings in a woman's body".
