By steam distillation of the ground, dried rhizomes of Zinigiber officinalis. Warm, green, fresh woody spicy scent. Reputed to be a sexual tonic. Warming oil when used in massage. Fiery and fortifying, it is good for a warming muscle massage. Useful for travelling aid, as can help with travel sickness & tummy upsets when used diluted as a rub. Traditionally used as an astringent and aphrodisiac. Ginger has a comforting, warming and uplifting effect upon the emotions. In the harems of the Byzantium era, ginger was a firm favourite and is still used in Senegal to arouse the men folk.
